Syncope - don’t miss the serious cardiac causes
In this podcast we’re going to be talking about syncope with a particular focus on not missing the serious cardiac causes. We’ll cover what syncope is, its potential causes, how to assess patients, red flags to look for, which patients have to be admitted and which patients get to go home.
Dr Emma Ku will be joined by Dr Jithin Sajeev, one of our Consultant Cardiologists at Eastern Health. Jithin’s subspecialty interests include the management of cardiac rhythm abnormalities and cardiac device implantation. He also runs the syncope clinic at BHH which you’ll hear about further into the podcast. He's a researcher, he's undertaking a PhD in atrial arrhythmias and stroke and he regularly contributes to medical education.
