What to do with a febrile child? Part 1 of 2

The febrile child is an incredibly common presentation whether in GP or ED. The vast majority of these are well children who can safely be discharged home, yet amongst this group there are some serious and even life-threatening illnesses to identify. To up the complexity we are assessing neonates to near- adults, and all with a worried parent to boot.

Dr Emma Ku is joined by Dr Rebecca Taylor, one of our Paediatricians at Eastern Health as we avoid the pitfalls and identify the pearls in managing paediatric fever. Rebecca is a general paediatrician with special interests in the management of the deteriorating patient, simulation, system governance and workforce wellbeing.
